Our Story

Calvary Community Church is a non-denominational, Bible-based church located in Valley, Alabama, founded in 1971 by the late Gary Cotney and his wife, LaVerne Cotney. LaVerne Cotney continues to serve as our pastor today.

For more than five decades, Calvary Community Church has stood as a place where God’s Word is taught faithfully and lives are shaped by the truth of Scripture. We welcome people from all walks of life to hear the Gospel, grow in their faith, and become part of a Christ-centered community.

Our church is committed to teaching the Bible, encouraging spiritual growth, and living out God’s love through compassion, unity, and service. We believe true community is built on grace, truth, and a shared desire to follow Jesus Christ. At Calvary, our goal is to provide a place where individuals and families can grow in faith, find encouragement, and walk together in fellowship rooted in God’s Word.

Service Schedule

Sunday Service

Join us on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. EST for our uplifting worship services.

We also have a midweek bible study service on Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. EST.

Our Sunday service is a time of celebration and reflection, while our midweek service offers a midweek spiritual boost. We welcome you to join us and be part of our church family.
